HEV – IgM /IGG Test Interpretation:
Hepatitis E is usually an acute infection and does not become a chronic illness
On rare occasions, the acute illness can take a fulminant shape; pregnant women are at higher risk of fulminant liver failure
The great majority of patients who recover from acute infection do not continue to carry HEV and cannot pass on the infection to others
For diagnostic purposes, results should always be assessed in conjunction with the patient’s medical history, clinical examination and other findings
